In The Pope: Power & Sin, players assume the role of the Pope, the spiritual and political leader of the Church State. The game focuses on the challenging task of strengthening the authority of the Church amidst a time of widespread corruption and moral decay within its ranks. As the Pope, players embark on a mission to fight for spiritual and political independence from pagan influence and to restore the Church to its former glory.

Players will have access to an array of tools and resources to wield their power effectively. They can commission works of art and architecture to beautify the Church and inspire faith among the faithful, or they can mobilize armies to defend against pagan invasions and protect the Church’s interests.

The game is set in a tumultuous era where the Church State is plagued by numerous scandals, excesses, and signs of moral corruption. As the Pope, players must navigate through political intrigue, religious conflict, and power struggles, all while maintaining a delicate balance between the influence of various factions within the Church.
